What are the copyright rules?
World Book resources are available for use in classrooms and from home for all staff and students of all participating districts and schools.
- All materials in the World Book products may be copied, printed or saved for classroom use. You may use the content within the educational setting but it may not be made available for public viewing in any way.
- Students may use World Book Web content for classroom assignments and other school projects, with proper credit and source citation, under the provisions of Fair Use. If students are preparing Web-based projects in conjunction with a classroom assignment, World Book encourages teachers and librarians to have the assignments loaded behind the school's firewall, so the assignments are password-protected and remain in the educational setting.
- The License Agreement with BCLA/ERAC and World Book includes the following: "Permission to include Licensed content in the course of instruction using virtual and managed environments and/or coursepacks are NOT included under the terms of this License. Requests for such use may be submitted to World Book, Inc. for consideration on a case-by-case basis."
- Questions or requests can be sent to the attention of Loranne Shields at loranne.shields@worldbook.com, with the subject heading, Copyright Permission.

|
