ERAC Resources Simply Accessed Through LearnNowBC
August 2011
Are you aware that students and teachers can access great ERAC resources through LearnNowBC? By streamlining student access to ERAC resources, a common access point is created from both school and home. This partnership with LearnNowBC offers access to a myriad of resources including:
- ERAC Online Database Bundle (EBSCO, World Book, Encyclopedia of BC, etc.)
- Media Awareness Network's "Passport to the Internet"
- CBC News In Review
- ...and additional resources are added as they become available
To ensure your access experience as a teacher to LearnNowBC is optimized, consider the following suggestions:
- Register with LearnNowBC and make sure to choose "teacher" and connect to your district or school to have ready access to all ERAC services delivered through this portal and purchased by your district.
- Create a classroom exercise for students to register (they need their PEN) and become familiar with the LearnNowBC portal and products.
- Take time to download and run targeted clips (like CBC News in Review) before class starts to help reduce problems with spooling in case your bandwidth is overloaded.
