Microsoft / Academic Select
The Microsoft Academic Select 6 Agreement offers a range of products at reduced educational pricing. ERAC members can obtain pricing through various authorized re-sellers. The previous ERAC Academic Select Agreement that was executed in 2008 expired September 30th, 2011. ERAC has extended that Academic Select Agreement for all members for one year. Districts and schools are able to continue to purchase under this agreement until October 2012. Existing enrolments with the Agreement will remain in place, with no further action required. Districts with Software Assurance Benefits will receive a quotation from their re-seller that they can renew as they see fit.
Extensive product listings are available across the 3 pools. Some of the products available include Office, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook, Project, Encarta, etc.
Pricing
The Select agreement acts as an umbrella that permits member districts to acquire software at preferred pricing without having to meet the minimum threshold volumes in the following three key areas:
- Applications
- Systems
- Servers
Pricing on the library of available Microsoft products can be obtained through your Large Account Re-seller (LARS) of choice. Prices change regularly and discounts vary from LAR to LAR so members are encouraged to shop around before deciding which LAR to establish an enrollment with. Districts may change LARS if they wish throughout the course of this agreement.
How Do I Access this Pricing?
Districts are able to purchase from any of the Microsoft authorized LARS. Districts must execute an affiliate Academic Select Enrollment Agreement with the LAR of their choice to be able to process orders under the ERAC Microsoft Select Master Agreement. Your LAR will help you with the enrollment process.
Independent schools are able to make purchases from Microsoft authorized LARS. Members must execute an affiliate enrollment with the LAR of their choice, in order to process orders under the ERAC agreement master. If the associate member cannot meet the required minimum threshold volumes, they may request the ERAC General Enrollment Agreement for Independent Schools by sending an email to info@bcerac.ca and then return the completed Schedule A to ERAC through the contact information listed below. Software assurance benefits are not available under the ERAC General Enrollment Agreement for Independent Schools.
