Ministry Recommended Resources

Recommended learning resources have successfully undergone a provincial evaluation process using teacher evaluators. These resources are then granted Recommended status by the Ministry. Teachers may select from these Ministry Recommended learning resources or may use other locally approved resources.

Information about recommended learning resources for each of the Integrated Resource Packages is organized in the format of Grade Collections. These documents are available for all BC curricula.

Currently, learning resource evaluations are only undertaken to align with the implementation of new curriculum. The Ministry of Education is responsible for these evaluations. ERAC has recently undertaken some of these evaluations for new curriculum, under agreement with the Ministry of Education.

The following Core Resources List is ERAC’s interpretation of the demand for, and quality, of newly recommended resources as part of new curriculum implementation. The Alberta Learning Resources Centre offers each of these core resources; choose the “BC Districts/Schools” link.
