RE: Provincial License of: All the Right Type Version 3.x


This letter contains important information about the distribution of All the Right Type software to school districts. The Ministry of Education and Ingenuity Works Inc. have negotiated a provincial software license to make All the Right Type Version 3.x available to all BC schools including K - 12 Public Schools & Group 1 & 2 Independent Schools, the agreement includes:

  • A perpetual License for All the Right Type Version 3.x
  • All future updates of All the Right Type Version 3.x (does not include future versions 4.x and above)
  • Documentation for technical operating environments & installation guide
  • Upon registration, free teacher home use is included
  • Special pricing for student home use

In the last week of June, the Ministry is forwarding 2 Installation disks and Install Guides to each Public School District Education Technology Manager and the Organizational Contacts for Group 1 & 2 Independent Schools. Under the terms of this agreement further disks may be burned for installation in schools. A School Site license is available for down load at:

Overview:
All The Right Type is a keyboarding, program designed for use in schools. More than 1,100 BC schools hold licenses for older versions of ATRT to support the Applied Skills curriculum, but only a few are for version 3.x. Some new features in version 3.x include:

  • Student password option, students’ records are pass protected.
  • Font size can be increased for reading ease.
  • Mouse review game: gives students the control and dexterity needed for mouse skills.
  • Numeric keypad lesson.
  • Support for a wide variety of operating systems and environments.

Home Use for Teachers:
After registration at http://www.ingenuityworks.com/bcmed/ copies of All The Right Type will be made available to teachers for use at home. Teachers may copy the Lesson Plans and the Posture Diagram in the appendices of the manual and Keyboard Layout charts for your own use, or as part of a course of instruction.

Student Home Version:
Ingenuity Works has established a website http://www.ingenuityworks.com/bcmed/ that will include student online challenge games and a self-registration system for students at BC Schools. Registered students will be able to download a home edition of the ATRT Software at a special price $12.00, or to order a CD-ROM directly from IW for $15.00.
